We often get questions about schools, the political structure, and how one hooks up the water and electric. This page provides you with the information and some links to investigate the steps you need to follow to get yourself "set up."

Utilities
Water is billed through the city's Water Department. In order to start new service, you must download a complete service agreement and billing notice. You can pay your monthly bill by coming into City Hall located at 242 E Main St Zavalla, use our convenient drive thru window or by using the pay button below.
FORMS FOR DOWNLOAD
These documents, plus a valid photo ID, deposit and new service fees should be brought to Zavalla City Hall at 242 E. Main Street during regular business hours (M-F 8am-4:30pm).

If you are putting a new meter and sewer tap in the fees are as follows:
Water is $450.00 plus cost
Sewer is $250.00 plus cost

When you fill out your service agreement, be sure to include your phone number you want to be contacted by. The City of Zavalla has a call out system that will notify your when there is a Boil Water Notice.

The electricity transmission and service provider is Oncor. In most areas of the city, electric service is open to competition; To learn about the retail service options available, visit PowerToChoose.org.
Schools
The Zavalla Independent School District serves Zavalla. Questions about the school system should be directed to the Zavalla Independent School District at (936) 897-2271.
